Monette Gartin, of Verdunville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 16, 2013, to join her husband, father, mother, and all of her brothers and sisters and many other family and friends. She was born on November 11, 1931, in Virginia, the youngest child of the late Garland and Maggie Hale. On January 20, 1957, she married the late Clyde Richard Gartin. She attended the Switzer Church of God. She taught many children in Sunday School throughout the years and was employed by G. C. Murphy Co. for over fifty years.
She was preceded to heaven by her husband, Clyde Richard Gartin, parents, Garland and Maggie Hale, brothers, Ted Hale, Sr., Orvin Hale and Grayson Hale; sisters, Gertha Hale and Edith Richardson.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca and her husband, William Anderson of Verdunville; grandchildren, Brandon Anderson and his wife, Lisa; Zachary Anderson and David Anderson. There are several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at Honaker Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Switzer Church of God PO Box 110 Switzer, WV 25647.
