Obituary for John E. Hibbs

John E.  Hibbs
John E. Hibbs 84, of Holden WV, formerly of Farmington WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 20,2016. He was born December 11,1931 at Grant Town, WV. The son of the late John O. and Marie Fusarina Hibbs.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lois Ann McKenna Hibbs whom he married in October 1957, four brothers, Henry, James ( Killed in WW II ), Robert and Virgil, three brothers in law Robert Schnaufer, James Freeland, and Dick Baier, two sisters in law Mary Hibbs and Bonnie Hibbs.
He retired in 1971from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after serving for twenty one years. During his military career, he served with various assignments throughout the United States, Okinawa, Spain, Italy, Lybia and Turkey. After which he was employed as the Director of Purchasing at Fairmont General Hospital for seventeen years, retiring in 1988.
He was a graduate of Fairview High School and held an associate degree in Business Administration Management from West Virginia Career College. He was a member of St Peter Catholic Church in Farmington, where he served on the church council, finance committee, as a Eucharistic Minister and usher.
He is survived by his two sons and wives. Douglas Kevin and wife Vickie of Logan, WV, Michael James and wife Lee Ann of Rockledge, Florida, and daughter Lori Ann Truit and husband Robert of Elon, North Carolina, four sisters Doris Jean Freeland of PA, Sarah Marie Schnaufer of Ohio, Laverna Baier of Ohio, and Louise Toothman and husband Robert of Ohio, one brother Calvin of Wheeling, WV, and one sister in law Lucy of Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday April 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Logan, with Father Yesu Golla officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Friends may call on the family on Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
