Obituary for
Jean Hannah
Jean Canterbury Hannah, 87 of Scott Depot formerly of Logan went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ & to be reunited once more with her husband William (Bill) Hannah. Jean passed away on Thursday morning, August 27, 2015 in Huntington at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House after a brief illness.
Jean was born October 10, 1927 at Holden and was the daughter of the late Frank and Dora Pack Canterbury. She was also preceded in death by her sister Flora Grimes Herman, brother-in-laws Bentley Grimes and Fred Baisden as well as a sister-in-law Marietta Hannah, and a niece Kathy Canterbury.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Logan High School, she was formerly employed by Evans Utilities of Logan, former secretary for the Town of Mitchell Heights, she was a member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene where she formerly served as church secretary for nearly 15 years, she also performed duties as Missionary President, Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School Director.
Jean was the beloved mother of James Michael "Mike" Hannah (Tammy) of Scott Depot. She also leaves behind the joys of her life; her grandsons Scott and Zachary Hannah of Scott Depot who were her pride and joy, step granddaughter Bethany Furrow of Scott Depot, step grandson Bradlee Furrow (Tiffany) of Logan, and step great grandson Bentlee Furrow of Logan.
In addition to her son and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Paulina Baisden of Texas and brother Billy Canterbury (Rita) of Florida and brother in law John "Duck" Hannah. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Logan Church of the Nazarene at 1:00 p.m. with Revs. John Hayes and Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00-9:00 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Hannah, Scott Hannah, Gary Bowen, Bob Craft, Robert Craft, and Brett Phipps.
