Obituary for
Terry Lee Gilliam
Terry Lee Gilliam, 60 of Melville, passed away Saturday August 1, 2015 at his home after a two year battle with cancer. Born March 24, 1955 in Logan, he was the son of Charles Gilliam of Charleston and the late Virginia Adkins Gilliam.
Terry was a 1973 graduate of Logan High School and attended Marshall University, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Terry loved all sports. When he was young, he played Little League Baseball and was a member of the bowling team "The Lucky Strikers", who made it to second place in the state in 1967. He was an avid fan of West Virginia football, Marshall Football and at times the Atlanta Braves (when they were winning). He enjoyed listening to Hoppy Kercheval daily on the radio.
Terry previously worked at several mine sites, was the construction coordinator for Geupel Construction and Monterra Development. He was also employed by Lowe's. He had an amazing ability with math. Terry never met a stranger and was a very kind hearted and giving person. He will be missed by so many.
Survivors include his wife Patti of Melville, one son Jordan of Taiwan, his Father Charles of Charleston, two brothers Charles Jr., (Jill) of Charleston and Shawn (Jennifer) of Morgantown, three nieces, two great nieces several aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan, with Father Yesu Golla officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday from 11:00 - 1:00 at the funeral home.
