Lovell Joe Sturgill, 62 of Prichard passed away Saturday December 27, 2014 at his home. Born on December 24, 1952 in Mingo County, he was the son of the late Zane G. Sturgill and Birdie Adams Southers. He was also preceded in death by one brother Winifred Southers and one sister Freda L. Southers Williamson and one step sister Jennifer L. Belcher Hinkle.
Joe is survived by two sons Joseph Chad (Ronda) Sturgill of Clearwater, FL and Trenton Chase Sturgill of Huntington, WV, one granddaughter Chloe Gail Sturgill, one brother Milton Eli (Freda) Sturgill, four sisters Sue (Butch) Watkins, Frankie (Bill) Branham all of Rt 1 Delbarton, Thelma (Garry) Riffle of Eleanor, WV and Loretta (Tommy) Damron of Logan, one step brother Don Rogers and Step Mother Hattie Sturgill of Logan, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his buddy and dearest friend AROD.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Lilly of Valley Freewill Baptist Church at Riffe Branch, with Rev. James Ed Baisden officiating. Burial will follow in the Vance Family Cemetery at Riffe Branch.
Friends may call on the family from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at Honaker Funeral Home in Logan and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
