Juanita Elizabeth Bailey Griffith, 95 of McConnell, passed away Thursday December 18, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan. Born March 8, 1919 in Logan County, WV and later raised in Dehue, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Fannie Perry Bailey. Also preceding her death was her husband Ralph R. Griffith, her son Gregory Bailey Griffith, brothers Donald, Ronald, Clarence Jr., Jack and Max Bailey, one sister Louise Kessell.
Juanita was one of nine children raised by Fannie after losing their father, Clarence in a fatal mining accident. She and her late husband Ralph lived and raised their children in Dehue also.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Kay F. Nisbet of Logan, sisters Lelen K McClure of Barboursville and Billie J McCormick of Pittsburgh, PA, four grandchildren Randy (Donna) Nisbet of Aracoma, Kelly Woods of Kingsport, TN, Elizabeth (Clifford) Kennedy of Mill Creek, Gregory (Ashley) Griffith of Louisville, KY, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a host of Bailey and Griffith nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday December 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Honaker Funeral Home of Logan with Rev. John E. Godby officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Friends may call on the family Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
