Eugene Deskins, 61, of Logan, WV, departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2013 at CAMC-General in Charleston. Born May 15, 1952 in Pike County, KY, he was the son of the late Carl and Gladys Workman Deskins.
Eugene was a loving husband to his wife, Cathy Damron Deskins, father to his daughter, Jamie (Kenny) Tomblin of Wilkinson, and “Poppy” to granddaughter, Kenlee Tomblin. He was a member at the First Baptist Church of McConnell and loved his church family. Eugene was a fan of sports and was a standout athlete at Williamson High School in the early 1970’s.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of McConnell on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor John E. Godby officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV.
Friends may call on the family from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the church.
Pallbearers will be John Turner, Jerry Calandros, John Dardi, Jack Blankenship, Russell Shell, Mike Adams, and Jerry Maynard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Tomblin, Glen Deskins, Jimmy Lambert, Clyde Keaton and Frank Mahon.
