Minnie Pearl Dingess (Mullins)
Mrs. Pearl (Minnie Pearl) Mullins Dingess of Lake, WV , age 77, formerly of Mud Fork, was a daughter of the late Linnie Pearl Ball Mullins and Walter Mullins from Greenview, WV, was born on September 30, 1935. She departed this life on Sunday May 5, 2013. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 49 years Pete Dingess and great grand-daughter Maddyn McGrath and great grand-son Jaxon Runyon, brothers Tilton Vance, Kenneth Vance, Cecil Vance, Basil Vance, O’Dell Mullins and infant twin brother Emil Earl Mullins and one sister Jewell Gillman.
She was a 1953 graduate of Scott High School and attended all her class reunions. She was a homemaker and worked for the US Postal Service with a total of 38 years. She retired in 2004 from Jeffrey Post Office as Postmaster. She also worked at Mount Gay Post Office for many years. Through the years, she served as Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, 4-H Leader, various positions with PTA, and home room mother for her 3 children. She also helped with various local charities and community activities. She also loved to attend the many sporting events and special occasions for her 5 grand children. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her children Barbara (David) Runyon of Lake, WV, Eddie Dingess of Big Creek, WV and Gayle Dingess (Bill Craddock) of Lake, WV, grandchildren; Asheley Dingess-Allie (Jamil), Jason (Christine) Dingess, Jeremy (Jessica) Dingess, Brent (Dolores) Runyon, Bridgett (Travis) Runyon. Great grandchildren Adrik, Ayla and Arix Allie, Kierra, Sarah and Jaxon Dingess, Braylyn Dingess, and Mira McGrath.
Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
The family would like to thank all the staff and nurses of the ICU Unit at LRMC and especially Dr. Marzouk, Dr. Kanuri and Dr. Mullen for the special care to our mother/grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Honaker Funeral Home, Logan WV. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 pm at Honaker Funeral Home.
