Lorene (Sis) Meade 92 of Whitman WV went to her Heavenly home on May 5th 2016 at the residence of her daughter Betty (Rush) Cox of Wilmington NC where she received much love and care for the past 4 years. She was born May 3, 1924 at Bareholm, WV a daughter of the late Henry C. Hager Sr. and Zara (Queen) Hager. She is also proceeded in death by her husband of 66 years William (Bill) Meade Sr. , two sons William Meade Jr. and John Meade, daughter Judith Meade, granddaughter Lisa Vance, and her brother Henry C. Hager Jr.

She is survived by one son Robert (Bob and Viola) Meade of Whitman WV, and one daughter Betty (Rush) Cox of Wilmington NC. 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Lorene began her Christian life at the #20 Whitman Community Church at a young age where she taught Sunday school for 23 years and was a member of the choir and ladies aid. She joined her husband as a member of Central United Baptist Church in 1991, where she was an active member until her health began to decline.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Teresa, Olga, Abby, and Denise of the Wilmington Hospice for the loving care that they gave mom.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at 11am at Central United Baptist Church on the Holden Road with Reverends Lonnie Gore and Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm at Honaker Funeral Home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
